There are other courses in the area that are cheaper and better. The greens had been punched about 3 weeks before we played and were hard and still a litle bumpy (no warning from the pro shop). The day we played half of the pins were placed 6 feet or less from the edges of the greens. There are blind shots on this course to some of the fairways and into some of the greens. "Local knowledge" would have been helpfull. The course is laid out in a private gated community and there are long distances between many of the holes. Pace of play is slow - 5 hour round on a weekday! The course is short and good golfers should play the black tees. If you are a 7 or better, play the gold tees.

This review is skewed by 2 things: 1. I played with a local who holds a club card for this course, which was $45, down from list at $119. At $119 I would NOT call this a bargain. I'd have to play again to say whether I'd recommend the course at full price (see item 2 below). 2. I made the mistake of playing from the blues. From these tees, the course is far too easy. I would play again from the blacks or golds.

What a disappointment! You pay top dollar and expect a great layout commensurate with what you paid. Big disappointment. The last four holes where in awful shape. You could not play the fairways on 17 & 18. The back nine over all condition was horrible.

The front nine was in a little better shape, but not by much. The front nine is routed thru houses and upscale apartment complexes. So it is pretty bland.

Of course the pro shop neglected to tell us about the course condition. They still had the gall to charge us $175.00 to play this goat track. When I went to tell them about how disappointed I was with the condition, the fact that I was not forewarned that the course was in seriously adverse shape and the price was not justified due to course conditions, the asst. pro said, "sorry". It would have been nice to have management acknowledge the problem and make some attempt to rectify the problem. A partial refund or a "rain check" for "if and when" the course is returned to 1st class condition would have been justified and help to rectify a lousy golf experience.

Bottom line, DO NOT PLAY HERE!!!! There are other courses in the Las Vegas area that are much better and with staffs that treat a $175 golfer in a manner that makes you know that they would like you as a continuing customer. 1st class golf is available at this price in Las Vegas, just not at Red Rock.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Better courses for less nearby, Worse than average course for the area
